went to the hobbystore, WAY outside my area. Was perusing their stash, and it dawned on me...My track is worthless!!!

If i didnt already explain, here goes...
The track that's shown in the pictures are from a set labeled
Marchon.
Marchon is a conglomerate or
Tyco and
Tomy. They no longer make the
Marchon track, so the only way to get it is thru eBay, BOOO!! and luck of the draw with individuals, pfft. I bought 2 'other' tracks to put together, one was
LifeLike, no way in hell they were matching up, and the other was
Tyco, mostly parts but still close but no cigar. I chopped up the
Tyco to make the winner's circle and the pits area. As I was lurking the shelves at the hobby store, it dawned on me. They have
Tyco!!! I can get parts!!!
I went home, and tore my
Marchon apart, and put the
Tyco pieces in it's place. Luckily I hadn't chopped all the ones i needed to re-make my set-up. I even ended up with a new configuration, and well I've got plans to extend my small track just a bit. Problem is this I'm practically back to square one when it comes to running. At least now I've got the ability to add to the track, instead of lurking several forums, and sites in hopes that my brand of track will show up.
Also, after sanding a floor down I have to beginnings or the 'dirt' for the hills. I bought me some formable 'grass' and well this weekend I'm laying in the majority of the landscaping. Pending any new formations i make with the track. Though It's been fun, I'm not thinking of doing a plastic track for my next build. Yeah that's right I'm thinking more tracks, but for now I want to get into routing my own. Seen several tracks that were hand built and I really like how smooth they look. Plus from what I've read they are super quiet. I sold off the
LifeLike track, and after i get some more cars, i think i'll let another sucker get ahold of this
Marchon I'm luggin' around, either that, or I sacrifice it to the track gods.
i'll get some new pics of the new layout, once i decide that's what i really want. Next step will be painting the track to make it resemble concrete. imo they messed up making it look like a phonograph. Sorry for the History lesson, but after a few weeks of research I've got to let some of it vent out
